Removing
the ECU. The Engine Control Unit is located under the hood, and is sealed within
a weather tight plastic case. The ECUs on some 02+ A4 models are also sealed
within a metal cage. These instructions will explain the process needed for
freeing the ECU. You will need to remove the ECU, so that it can be mail via
USPS for the software upgrade. Begin by removing the small clip from the cowl
splash shield, which is tucked in the corner by the drivers side hood hinge. Be
careful not to drop the clip, as it will need to be reinstalled.

Removal Complete.
The
ECU is now free from the metal enclosure.
Send
your ECU to INMotion.
The
ECU will return shortly, and you can continue
with
the installation process.
